Move over Hall Effect keyboards, hello TMR!

Fairly recently, Akko/Monsgeek released the "FUN60" line of budget 60% keyboards, and while there are a bunch of variants of this keyboard, the highest end version of this keyboard uses a technology called "TMR" or "Tunneling MagnetoResistance".  Allegro systems which makes these kinds of sensors has a great little video on how this works: https://www.allegromicro.com/en/products/emerging-technologies/tmr

What's cool about the keyboard itself is that Akko also built a chip and PCB that not only will process data from the TMR sensors, but can also process data from normal mechanical switches allowing you to put Magnetic switches OR mechanical switches into the keyboard.  The TMR sensors are 10x more adjustable than the Hall Effect switches allowing you to adjust actuation points in 0.01mm increments, which is absolutely ludicrous since you'd never be able to detect that small of a movement with your fingers, but it does make for a very consistent and extremely customizable feel for typing on the keyboard.

They have also done an amazing job on producing a switch that has very very little stem wobble so that there is no rattling and if you decide to type very lightly on the keyboard, the switches are absolutely silent, even quieter than Kailh Prestige Silent or Haime Heartbeat Silent linear switches! It's too bad that the FUN60 only comes in a a 60% layout ( would have preferred 75% or TKL ) but I guess the technology is new so it might still happen later!

For now though, I think this typing feel of this keyboard is unlike any other and if you want to try typing on one of the smoothest, lowest latency keyboards in existence I highly recommend you give this a try!  The web based and or stand-alone driver for the keyboard is also excellent and allows you to configure all of the standard Hall Effect features that you expect - DKS, TGL, ModTap, SOCD, Rapid Trigger and actuation distance.  There aren't that many lighting modes available but there are enough, and the RGB is definitely bright enough!  There is absolutely NO lag with the 2.4Ghz operation, which is amazing! You can't even tell it is operating wirelessly, since it is still polling at 8k when connected via 2.4Ghz!

I wish this keyboard had more keys but at least it does let you swap FnLayers with a quick tap of 2 keys.  The build quality is outstanding, with the aluminum case having quite a hefty weight for such a small keyboard.  Even though in theory everything comes pre-lubed, you really do need to lube the switches and stabilizers if you want to remove the rattling of the stabilizers and the loud bottom-out sound of the switches.  After lube is applied, the sound profile is really quite good!  It isn't Evo80 thocky, but more of a muted ND75 thocky.  The keyboard is really pretty quiet making just enough sound when you want it to, and having the smoothest key press feel of any keyboard I've tried so far!
